I first heard "Thrift Shop" a few months ago and took a liking to it immediately as I LOVE thrift and all things cheap. If I lived in America I'd live in thrift stores 24/7, so having heard the song I scoured the internet looking for my local thrift store/shop and I found one which was actually called "xxx Thrift Shop".
I was so excited, I envisaged myself walking in listening to the song and having my own crazy Thrift Shop experience like in the music video. Yeah, that didn't happen - I walked in with "less than $20 in my pocket" wearing my "grandad's clothes" and found a bunch of overpriced stuff which wasn't "fucking awesome".
The only good thing was I managed to buy an in season shirt from Topman for £2.50 which I managed to sell on for 10x the price I paid as well as my asian scarf which I try to wear with every single outfit I wear.

I love thrifting, but it is always a hit or miss situation.
